The birth centenary of Salil Chowdhury, the legendary creator and artist of Indian music, will be celebrated throughout the year 2024-25. Keeping this context in mind, the Salil Chowdhury Birth Centenary Celebration Committee has decided to practice all the aspects of creator Salil's creation through a long program from 2023.

Salil Chowdhury Birth Centenary Celebration Committee has included all aspects of Salil Chowdhury's poetry, stories, essays, articles, plays, films, social and political activities in addition to various aspects of music. The festival will be celebrated through discussion cycles, publications, exhibitions, documentaries and film making, cultural festivals and various competitions.

Each program will initially be organized at the district level. On July 27th, the first meeting of the Kolkata district committee was held at Dwarkanath Thakur Mancha in Jorasanko Thakurbari. On December 14th and 15th, at Gurudas College, Calcutta District Primary Stage Music, Dance, Recitation, Orchestra and Drawing Competition is being organized. There will be a quiz competition in the month of January. Besides, debates, cultural programs, workshops, video production, seminars and other programs have been taken up.
